@Fitzkop1
Get yourself a drink, put your feet up and switch on to the podcast below and travel back in time. It’s like sitting with mates talking about the old days, the glory and bad days, the memorable goals, teams and the players we’ve idolised. Great stuff and really enjoyable.

Life at Liverpool FC has not always been 6 times European champions. There was a time before the Reds had won any European trophy or even the FA Cup. Mark Kerr, left, John Coburn centre, and Bob Williams, right, discuss the dark days at Anfield followed by the golden dawn of Bill Shankly. This is on podcast episode 5, available now. .

George Scott was a 15 year old boy who was crazy about football and his local team, Aberdeen. Despite being offered terms to sign as an apprentice by his boyhood team, George chose to travel 500 miles south to a city he didn't know and a team he had not heard of - Liverpool. George was one of new manager Bill Shankly's first signings. A player for nearly 6 years at Anfield, yet despite being the reserve team's leadiing scorer for three seasons, he never made the first team.

George talks about his team mates; Roger Hunt, Tommy Smith, Chris Lawler and Ian Callaghan. He reminisces over training at Melwood, playing 5 a side against Shankly, Paisley, Fagan, Reuben Bennett and Ronnie Moran. He talks about his last three matches as a Liverpool player, which were at Wembley, Anfield and the San Siro.

Shankly's influence did not end when George left Anfield, Bill's words became a philosphy of life and his telephone call landed George a playing contract at Tranmere.

In our third episode George will be talking about his autobiography and sharing his memories of life as one of Shankly's boys.
